While considering music, you need to ensure you keep in sync with the brand tonality and guidelines. Music is the sound within the ambience – and only adds or subtracts to the sensory experience that a diner is paying for. We try to capture that across the various restaurant brands within the deGustibus umbrella. Maintaining brand consistency across all our brands as well as offering occasion specific music for each brand is the reason why Jukebox Studio has worked out well for us.

Incognito has an easygoing, retro ambience and our music needs to maintain that. There’s no place for music genres like EDM because it brings the entire energy down. Our music needs to be more foot-tapping because that’s the kind of vibe we want to maintain. With Jukebox Studio, our music now not only reflects our personality, but also connects with our audience. Say from 3 pm to 8 pm we have Happy Hours and the music that gets played then is very different from the music that gets played later because between 3 pm – 8 pm we get lot more youngsters.
Music is what brings everything together in our venue. It’s more like an entertainment. People can use the BC Jukebox app to complement the mood of the day. So they get to control the music, it’s great for them.
Vinny’s is about the entire pleasant experience – everything put together. Music has a different effect on different people. On the whole, most like some downtown and little music is always welcome. But it needs to make the experience fun. Jukebox Studio is able to ensure we keep with up the times by playing what’s in demand now, what most people are listening to. I have been to some places where they play old music and people comment ‘Who plays that?’ We don’t get that at Vinny’s, and if we do we can immediately do something about it.
